single engine 29 ft Cat?

Does a single motor for a 29 foot cat seem like an ok way to run or should that boat have been rigged with twins. The single thats in there isn't shy on power, runs about 950hp. Just wanted some of your guys knowledable input on this matter.

I've never seen a 29' cat with a single. Anything I have seen 28' and longer has twins.

A friend had a DCB f29 with a single Teauge 900 motor that did well.

Agreed...

There are several Powerboat and Hot Boat reviews on single big power cats......all have run very well.... the weight /HP ratio is favorable. Similar to a 28-30 V-bottom with big HP ( the current trend) only more efficient which equals greater speed. Also better fuel economy and overall less maintenance.
