Best way to lift boat off trailer
I need some ideas. I keep the Mercedes boat on the tilt trailer at a Benz dealer. Since I can't put that trailer in the water, I have to have someone lift the boat off the tilt trailer and either put it in the water or on my aluminum traier so I can launch it myself. it is a major pain and expensive to have a marina do this. Hauling both trailers to and from the marina alone is a chore. I have one 4 ton hoist in my warehouse and was thinking of getting another so i can hook lift straps to the boat, lift it and switch trailers. Anyone have any other ideas? I looked into Yardarm lifts but they are $5k for the set and extremely heavy and near impossible to transport. The boat weighs just under 10k lbs.

Dumb me, but why can't a tilt trailer go in the water? Is it just salt water it needs to stay out of? If so, I get it.

I thought that was your boat in front of the Mercedes dealer in Lauderdale. I was there two weekends ago and when I came around the corner it looked way kool in front tilted and in front of in my opinion the best cars made.
I thought I've seen some houses on the water untill I viewed some of the cribs on the Inter Coastal in Lauderdale. WTF do you do with a 35000 sq ft house, and tied up outside is a 125 ft yacht. After boating in FL the last 2 years, I've learned that it's a great reality check when you think you got money. Good luck with the hoist problem. |

I can just see a bad luck post coming. Yes, the salt is why I won't dunk it. |
Gino, we use a couple of "A" frames on rollers. I've lifted up to 20k lbs wit htis rig. We have chain blocks, 2 stern and 1 bow. It should give you more than enough room to pull the trailer out without striking the forward "A" frame.

Damn - Wish I had your problems Gino.... mice in the Lambo .. how to get my MTI off my tilt trailer ... etc.. LOL!!
|
Tell ya what - I'll tell the Mercedes dealer to kiss my butt and move down there with you and handle any problem you consider to be a "pain in the butt" - for a small fee - and I get to drive every once and a while.... LOL!
After tackling the raw water pumps on those 850's in the NorTech - your stuff should be easy! Good Luck!!! |
