Default Scam on Craig's List

I just had a friend ask me about my 45 Apache being listed for sale on a web site called "Craig's List" for a lower price than what it is listed for here in the OSO classifieds. I did not list the boat on that site, authorize anybody to list it there for me and I had no idea it was even on there. I didn't even know the site existed until today. For this reason I have no doubts that it must be a scam.

I did list the boat on E-bay last week, but that listing got suspended by E-bay for "possible fraudulent activities." I have not put the ad back on e-bay and probably will not after this.

I just wanted to let you guys know that the listing on Craig's List, or anywhere else other than Boat Trader or OSO, is not real. If anybody wants to see the boat or needs any information about it, please shoot me a PM here on OSO. Thank you.

Will,
I had something similar happen with a house I had for sale. I was selling one of my houses and had someone knock on my door offering to give me the "full price". Unfortunately the house I had for sale was at a different location than the phone number. The person who came to my door thought they could buy my waterfront house for 149,900. The house for sale was at another location. I never authorized anyone to list my house on their website.
I'm glad you gave everyone this warning.....

Craigs list is a very scarry place for this type of activity. I tried to recently buy a jeep on there that well the sale got "weird" to say the least.....had my girlfriend contact the seller independently to see what was up and seller started selling it to her as well !! Long story short transfers went thru and authorities had to get involved.....There was no Jeep and seller was pulling this with various "stolden" pictures and listings....apparently making alot of money....

Got mine back, but feel sorry for others that didn't
