Documented vessel question

I read that you have to have that # that is on the certificate on you boat, visable and has to be a certain size, my question is how do you guys have it and how did you do it ? Was it done with vinyl letters ?

Thanks for the help, I cant figure out which is the best way to do it.

Go and buy the numbers you need (4" I think) and some west system. lay the numbers in the bilge that is vissible without to much work. And glass them over. Let dry. All done.

I went to a local sign company they made an aluminum sign that looks like a street sign with my document # and then just glued it into the engine compartment with marine epoxy.
