Default Fire - Skipper Bud's Winthrop Harbor, IL

I heard that this morning the fire trucks were sent to Skipper Bud's and one of the buildings for boat storage was on fire. From what I heard it was the building that is for cold storage. Most of the buildings are heated for the winter storage. This is the building that drystack boards are stored during summer in/out service. Sounds like there maybe alot of loss.

This is hear say so I hope it is not true. If it is, I feel for those that have boats there!

Yes, are boat is not in there in the winter. We have a few friends that do keep their boat in there so I am sorry to see this for them. The only hope is that it goes to the ground so the insurance company doesn't try to screw them on fixing the boat.

Mark,
Smoke will total from your and my point of view but the insurance company will have a different point of view. They will pay to have a special cleaning done and consider it repaired.

The acids in the gases created during the fire will corrode everything metal, even makes stainless look it is has been sitting at the bottom of the ocean for years.
