I can tell you that an officer/detective cannot set a bail/bond amount. That can only be set by judge unless it is a standard charge with a preset amount, which is generally only for misdemeanors. More than likely the officer was ready to get the warrant and was giving you the opportunity to turn yourself in prior to the warrant being issued. Sounds like your first lawyer was an idiot.

Any new word on this situation, i called him a few days ago to have a boat shipped and did not realize any of this was going on. Has he been charged or did they drop charges. No post since April
