Default adding headrests and consoles to backseat

When I pulled the engine hatch to start on my motor project/nitemare I found a bunch of cracks and amateur fashionery on the mounting and the rubber bumpstops were missing so it vibrated through the gelcoat. Long story short, its going in to the fiberglass shop.

Im considering having it reupholstered while im workin on it and thought itd look a lot better with a set of headrests built in.

How would I go about this? Could I just cut some foam in the shapes that I want and glue them to the foam thats already there and then send it in for upholstery?

As far as the backseat, I was thinking of changing it around also. Instead of having a one piece flat pad for the butt part, im thinking of breaking it into a 3 person backseat divided by two homemade consoles w/cup holders and a T-handle built into each one. Ill make the t-handles out of metal with a piece of 1 inch pipe as the handle and have the whole thing chromed.
The butt part will be three seperate removable pads. I want to build this out of marine grade plywood, cover it with foam and have it upholstered to match with white and yellow piping.

Can someone guide me in the direction I need to find the materials/equipment to start cutting the foam and gluing it together or however its done?

Can someoen post some pictures of their custom backseats for some ideas?

That looks real close to what im wantin to do... wish i could find a tutorial on how to make those block-style pads like he has. Not sure if they are glued to a wooden back or if they are upholstered and stapled down or what.
