I've crossed it in 18ft seas in a 38 Top Gun - max speed was maybe 15 mph!

It was fall after a hurricane when we raced in Grand Bahama 2002. We were the only race team to drive our boat to the race and back. Everybody else had their boat shipped over. Call me nuts , I almost didn't make it!

Another fleet of race boats will hold a non-racing "rally on water" Thursday, Oct. 17 crossing from Stuart, Florida across to Freeport. They will headquarter at the Pelican Bay Hotel at Lucaya.

Oh it was a race alright and we won - haha!
