Depends on your budget,at 900 hp I would forget about the imco sc,you will be guaranteed to break it sooner or later. The max machine worx drive especially with a billet case will be a step better then the imco sc but still plan on breaking/tearing something up every 100 hours or less. At 8000$ if you destroy the upper on the imco sc it will cost you 4000$ plus to be back in the game, the max machine worx will be similar except the std case fully upgraded drive at 9500$ or billet case drive at 11,000$ plus will cost you more initially but will less like self destuct completely. At 28,000 and a total re-rig the konrad coversion is out in left field aside from the fact you will be re-inventing the wheel with your x-dimension,there are guys that have blownthem up with 950 hp running maximus props too.
To me IF I was in your position and only wanted to buy a drive ONCE and not have to repair it at 15,000$ the new imco scx seems like the best way to go except it has no real track record yet,my second choicewould be a B-max with a extended warranty, plan on going thru the lower every 100 hours or less though because it still uses stock style merc lower gears but they are cheap compared to blown uppers,Smitty

I have had great luck with the B-Max. Warranted to 950 hp and and 950ft lbs torque. Depending on your weight you should have little trouble. Rated to 14,000 lbs with an optional 2 year warranty all for about $15,000 list, shop you can probably do better.

Hagha thanks gerry ill be there ASAP, Gerry you going straight drive or something else? Wish i could just drop the 15K here but budge doesnt allow it after the motor melt down or July 07. I have the power plant just didnt factor the drive. There is a guy on the board with a MAx Machine with 1 hour on it. Im leaning towards that. I dont plan on beating the crap out of it but once in a while get in to the throttle. PLus a couple poker runs. Weekend cruising really. With the weight to power ratio, it cruises at 65 easy with out even making any boost. Also how do i know my gear ratio in the drive. I dont know if its a 1.36 or a 1.50. Prop shaft dia. is 1.00

mikes280 03-23-2008 09:46 AM

there is not one they are all junk. they ether kill speed and power or they want hold up. xr's are cheep and if you drive like you have some sense they will last a while i have killed one drive in three year and it is fixable. so how many drives can you by at half the price of the rest. Also my motor dynoed at 1073 with over a 1100 ft. lbs. toque just have to be very easy with the stick.
