Lightbulb Roller Rockers

Has anyone installed roller rockers on a BB chevy using the stock valve covers. Got a 502 efi that I want to install rollers on. Any help would be great,.

Yup, I had to remove the oil delfector tabs from the inside of the covers. I ground the spot welds till the tabs came off and then repainted and they worked fine. I also had to modify 2 of the crane gold rocker to clear the mounting recess in the cover.

formula31 thanks for the info. Are your covers cast aluminum, which two rocker arms did you have to do and what modification.

No, my covers were all early Mark 4 stamped steel. If yours are cast It might be a whole different story. I have to get home and look at a head before I can tell you which 2 rockers I had to grind on. That may not be neccessary on your covers either though.

Installed them on a Gen V 454mag. Just had to remove the oil tabs on the inside of the valve covers and the tabs next to the valve cover bolt holes. Also used the thicker gasket with the steel core.
