Default How long can IT be ???????

I know the question has been asked on here THOUSANDS of times but here comes one thousand and one.

My "boat space" measures 31' front to back (inside measurement), the door is 10' wide and 8' tall.

What's the largest boat that would fit?

I'm guessing a 28' Pantera will NOT, a 24' Pantera will, a 22' Donzi Classic WILL, a 27' Fountain ???

Thanks!!

My shop is 40' X 30' outside dimensions, so roughly 29' X 39' inside I suppose. My 311 Formula would only fit if I backed it in until the drives were about to touch in the rear and then removed the brake actuator from the tongue of the trailer. And then it only barely fit. I would doubt seriously that a 27' Fountain would fit.

Depends on the trailer. You could get a trailer were the bow of the boat sits over/close to the ball and adjust your axles accordingly. This could save you as much as 5 feet or more.

I think you will have a hard time with anything over 25'. The trailer will also have a big influence on what fits in that space. My shop is 29x29 inside space, and to get my 24'8" H2X in there I have to remove the brake actuator and angle the boat to one side. The drive is only about an inch from the back and I have about a 1/2" at the nose when the door goes down. When you find something you like enough to go look at, take your tape measure!

You can always do what I am planning to do, which is knock out the back wall and EXPAND!!!!

I add 6' to the hull length as s rough estimate of length overall. The drives will add nearly 2-3' to the boat and trailer can be 3' longer. Keep in mind some hull are measured to the swim platform which will hang over the drives. My guess is a 25' boat is about all that will fit.

28 Pantera might - with the right trailer. Do they do swing tongues on large trailers?

27 Fountain should easily fit - since the swim platform (last 2' of the boat) is taking up the same space as the drive below.

My buddy had his trailer modified so that he could remove two pins and remove about 4' of the tongue, don't think that would work with the modular aluminum trailers though.
