I went on that tour in Miami (Thriller). It had twin diesels and ran about 55 with surface drives. The g/f wanted to go on a "star" tour and I just wanted to go boating, so we compromised.

The Thriller boat was doing tours during the MIA show. Funny as hel to go blowing by them and see all the faces watching REAL boats doing demos.

A friend of mine rode in the thriller boats in the Bahamas. The driver told them all that it was the fastest boat in the Bahamas. I was over there and saw them "Haulin Ass " at close to 40 mph.

Thriller is actually the Randy Linebach (sp) 46' Skater Splash that made his 50' Airborne. They had the deck cut out by Errol Lanier and converted to a passenger ferry as you see it.
Originally, due to the fact that Mercury was selling outboards for dirt cheap in the Caribbean, it was equipped with four 250 Merc outboards. Being they were cheap, they replaced all four engines annually but maintainance was high. Then Mercury no longer offered the deal in the Caribbean so it was time for a change. They re-rigged the boat with Yanmar 440's and Arneson ASD8's. Thriller has since purchased the molds and makes the boats equipped with Yanmar 480's and Arneson's. I belive it runs 55 mph loaded with people. |

Ric is right. This is from the Airborne mold. We look after 3 of the 4 that were made. 2 Flatdecks : we rigged the one pictured with 900 Mercs and 6's and there was a turbine boat...
