Boat Forklifts

Anybody have any idea what a new or used fork lift runs that drops up to 35 footers? I want to propose to our marina to get one!

Are you talking about just performance boats or cruisers and fishers as well? Marina folklift load ratings are calculated based on a 96" load center so just because the boat weighs 12k and the lift is rated at 15k does not mean it will lift it, it depends where the load center is. Performance boats are usually have a load center close to the back of the boat so they are easier to lift pound for pound. If that is all you are looking to lift then something like a 20 or 22k Wiggins or Taylor is would be your best bet, They have some smaller models but this will leave some flexibilty. They start in the 260k range and go up into the low 300's depending on options. If there is a serious interest shoot me a PM and I can get you a listing of all of the used stuff out there in the States right now with pricing.

I don't know if the marina will outlay that amount of money right now. They just bought a new 50 ton boat lift last year.

There are plenty of used machines, mostly late 90's Taylor's, out there in the 50-100k range, also some late model Wiggin's for 100-200K. Just let me know and I can get you an up to date list of used equipment that you can take to them.

My marina has a 18K & 20K Taylor and 30K & 42 K Wiggins.A 29' performance boat is all the Taylor 20K can handle . We store a 47' Fountain with the 30K Wiggins .The 42K wiggins is the newest - 500K about 3 yrs. ago .

Look into a Taylor T120. Better than the wiggins. I had 2 of them (one with cat pwr and one with cummins). Did everything from a 17' BR to my 42 Ex. Can get a nice one between 5 and 10 years old for under 100K. Just make sure the forks are good. They have to be x-ray'd because they rot from the inside out - faster in saltwater obviously.
