SMC Recommendations for Pansy Bayou/
City Island Grass Flats


Save the Manatee Club (SMC) recommends elimination of the high speed water sports area at City Island. The City Island water sports area is immediately adjacent to Pansy Bayou, which is a no entry zone because high manatee use. Manatees frequent the City Island water sports area to feed on the dense sea grass flats located there, and aerial survey data confirm high manatee use of the area.. The entire area should be a year-round slow speed zone.

SMC Recommendations for Warm Mineral Springs


Save the Manatee Club (SMC) recommends creating a seasonal no entry zone on Salt Creek (exemptions would be granted for residents and their guests) from the US 41 bridge up to the weir.
