Jeff, the Cummins base warranty is 2 years 1,000 hrs so pratically speaking on a perfromance boat, performance diesel, 3 years or 300 hrs would have wroked for you or put you in better spot than a base Cummins warranty. Not that it matters I was just curious about your thoughts on that.
As far as price goes, 40k for the diesel sounds like "a deal", the Merc 600hp has to go for almost that much?
Again not really driving at anything just would like to know what people think is fair?
Comparing 1990's pricing a 400 hp "B" retailed for about $18,000 no trans that's $45/hp. Take that to the 600hp and it's $27,000, so your $40k for 600hp might be a fair number today?
Does anyone know what a 600hp Cummins C sells for today, I'm curious?

Does any UK member know this firm?
http://www.chipexpress.com/products/2458/
I have twin Volvo D6 370 with DPH drives in My 38" Wellcraft Excalibur. (cruising at 40 knots and top speed is 44-45 knots) I'm not forced to change my drives to DPR as the DPH's Nibral propellers cant take the cruising speed my boat goes.
With DPR I should be able to map some more Hp/Torque to upper range as those D6's with their 5.5litre engines are quite mildly tuned.
Anyone else with D6's?

You can not get more than 385-390 hp from the D6-370. The limitations are the size of the turbo, intercooler and injectors.
We got about 470 hp from the D6-435 with help from Volvos R&D guys. The 435 has different pistons, larger IC, turbo and injectors.

You can use the stainless GR- propellers from the DPR with a spacer(same shaft). The DPR-legs makes only difference in speeds over 50 knots.

Whats the diffrence in DPH and DPR drives in the ratios, they are different right? So if I put DPR props to those DPH drives (the smallest size) how does it work.
I'm now using the size 8 in the DPH drives.

The DPR has a 1:1,36 ratio. My boat hit the revlimiters at 60,5 knots with the largest GR9 props. With modified GR9;s and a modified 3730 rpm revlimit it topped out at 65,3 knots (75,1 mph). Still at the limiter.

Think there a two or three ratios on the DPH. Should be found at Volvo Pentas website. The DPR gears fit in the DPH-housing.

Hi Thanks!
It seems that the ratio is 1.63:1?

So how does that go with the GR propellers?
What boat do you have? Really nice speed you got there!
