Default Need non-skid for swim platform - help

I just had my swim platform re-powder coated. Thus the original non skid is gone.

I bought some 3m Safety Walk non-skid tape and applied it. But a week later the ends are coming up. The swim platform hasn't even been out of the garage.

The surface is smooth, wax free and un-contaminated since it is new powder coating.

Who knows of some non-skid tape (not the sandpaper stuff) that will stick?

I had the 3M non skid on my Pantera platform for 2-3 years and it never even hinted at peeling up. It was white and did get dirty real easy.

I just got some clear non skid from this company for the AT platform. It has been on for a few months, but hasn't been out of the garage, so I don't know how it will hold up.

On my 31 Scarab, we used sand from the beach. You first prime your platform, then topcoat it, then add the sand (use an old coffee can with holes on the bottom) while the paint is still wet. Be carefull to evenly apply the sand and only use a light amount. Let it dry then reshoot with another light coat of paint. Mine came out great and lasted for years. Its awsome the sand sticks to the paint and it looks great.

Do a search for Hydro Turf. They make the stuff used on jet skies and waverunners. You can get all different colors and patterns.

I just ordered a 10.5"X72" piece of Clear Grip Strip from Surfmore Products, Inc. here in San Clemente Ca. It will fit my use perfectly. I had my boat detailed last week and the swimstep became VERY slippery. So I called this guy (Luis Benito) he shipped me out a sample and it looks perfect. My swimstep is tubular and I am having a friend ,who has a sign company, cut into 1"X72" strips (8 of them) and use the left over for the step for the deck on the port side or wherever it is needed.$30.60 + shipping. We'll see how it works,Mike
