Default Chaparral 30' Villain....any info?

I'm considering buying this boat (it's a 1987). It's got twin 454 Mags/Bravos, fresh water,. Does anyone have any first hand knowlege of this model? Is the bottom balsa cored? Any quirky handling characterists (porpoise/chine walk)? The builder can't help (it's too old). Thanks. The boat's in great shape, and is located on a local lake close by so the logistics are easy.

Theres one at the marina by my house seems like a pretty cool old boat. Don't know much about it other than they have updated the interior and cleaned on it some. Seems like they enjoy it.

A friend of my dads used to keep his boat here at the house and thats what it was. I can say all in all it was a nice boat, ran an honest 65 and some change, with a set of clevers on it...

I used to have an '89. Great boat with big room for the size. Biggest problem I had was the small engine compartment. ZERO SERVICEABILITY!

Rode fairly well. Dry. Didn't seem to take the chop like you'd expect from a boat it's size, though. Mine ran upper 60s with 330s and 26 Mirage props.

The one pictured on the above ad on Powerboatlistings is just like my old one.

Check the drives, the bravos did not come out until 88, I think you have the infamous 454/alpha combo they tried for a year or two.

Don't think this is the one.
I bought it from the second owner, he was buddies with the guy who had it originally. Nice selling point for him really, he knew the guy for many years, guy was moving up to a 35 or 38 (can't remember). I've done a lot of the small nick picky stuff, there is still some to be done too though.

Boat came from Pasadena when I bought it, High and Dry it's entire life, never ever saw a trailer or was left in.
