What would take these Scratches out????
Ok so this is the 3rd year I have had my boat and over that last 2 years the boat has recieved these scatches. They are from my boat lift, it has the pvc pipes on both side to guide it in but they are to short. So everytime I pull into my lift the poles would rub underneath the rubrail on the sides of the boat. They are like strip of plastic not scratches so to speak.. Please help..

Those look like scuff marks of PVC actually scrubbed onto the paint. I would thing those would come out, but will take a lot of work.
Did you put longer PVC poles on your lift yet? |
Use Donnies oxidation remover and a clean rag then follow up with leverage. I hadsome similar on mine and they came right out. Good luck!

Gel or paint? If it is gel and PVC marks acetone will take it right off.

That's why I don't fukc with lifts..
That sh!t would piss me off. |

Two suggestion, for prevention.
1. Extend the pole guides out a little more at the bottom. 2. Put some special cloth sleeves over the pipe's. Someone can sew them up for you before you really do some real damage.. Good luck. |
I second the acetone, get a quart for about $4 at the local parts store. Just put a little on a rag and wipe those right off. Thats the only thing I've ever used to remove scuff marks. Just wipe a little wax over it once removed.
