6% sales tax in MI. The title fee was cheap...maybe $25 and registration fees vary by length of the boat...think it was about $150 for my 32' for 3 year sticker. However, like everyone else up this way...we only have about a 6 month season tops.

5.5% -7% sales tax depending on if you live in a city limit.
$15 for a title
$65 registration fee every 3 years.
No other personal property taxes

That is assuming you don't USCG register it. If you register it USCG then all you pay is teh USCG stuff. You don't have to register it at all with the state or pay any taxes.

You still have to pay PP taxes, I have had all mine with USCG and about 5 years ago they got me.

There is no personal property tax in Nebraska. We have a motor vehicle tax for cars, trucks, motorcycles and they use that instead of a PP tax. They tax the chit out of us on everything else too. Property tax mil levi is 2-3%. It says right in the Nebraska boaters guide that boats registered with the USCG do not need to be registered with the state. Problem is that you have No stickers and get pulled over all the time. I actually registered mine with the state using some creative bill of sales with the power being on a separate bill of sale. Price comes out about the same as with the USCG.
