Another hypothetical question
So I've been looking at and test driving boats these past couple of weeks and I've always thought about what would happen it something broke while I was driving it.....Let's just say that I decide to get on the throttle a little bit and the drive goes.....who's responsible for the new drive? Could the owner hold me responsible if the drive breaks because "I wasn't driving it right".......Has this ever happened to someone on the forum?

Someone can sue someone else for anything they want.
IMO, unless you were negligent you wouldn't be held liable. |
I had a motor go south during a test drive once. I just looked over at the owner (seller) and said dang, looks like we don't have much more to talk about. It was a quiet ride back to the marina on one engine. He called me a couple of months later after he got it fixed, but I had already purchased a different boat by then.
