High End wood finish
 

what product does the high end boat builders use on there interior wood to make it so glossy.

I have done a few Buick Estate wagons and used Epiphans (sp?) Very high gloss and gives the wood a rich color to. I have been told spar varnish is the best for wood but i think for the bright gloss you need to use a polyurethane.

The little known secret is that you need to properly seal the wood before you put the top coat on. Try this stuff:

I prefer to use a polyester top coat too it can be repaired easily. It builds up good so you can buff and polish it to a wet look finish:

A lot of the ultra high end yards use this stuff :p

I also used Epifans on my Sportfish and it turnout awesome. I would wet sand it and then buff it and it looked like water.
