That's correct about JL Audio. As far as I know, there are not any online retailers that are authorized to sell JL Audio. If they do, then they don't have serial numbers. My advice to you is to find a local or somewhat local dealer.

Most specs are BS!! (Specifications subject to change w/o notice) means mfg doesn't have to meet any of them

Any differences between car audio head units (despite what "specs" say) will not be audible. ESPECIALLY on a boat whether docked or running. That said, I prefer the Pioneer's too.
