The motors are coming out of my 382. Clean paint patch, replace some diamond plate. Make sure the starters are good. Anything I am missing? I would hate to think of it after they are back in.

How many hours on on the boat/power? You may look into replacing the couplers while the motors are out.

Inspect the oil pans and front and rear main seals, as well as the dipstick tube entry into the pan. Check for corrosion/leaks.

Good call. Do the Float Switches too.

Make sure you run all of the pigtails as high in the bilge (up the transom) when you connect into the boat's wiring as well. If you make your connections down near the pumps, when your bilge is full of water; all of the connections will just short out if they are under water rather than turn on the pumps and/or trigger the floats.

Ask me how I know that!

i did the new style bilge with the float switch built in and they have an output you can put a switch on

Take a good look at the trim/tilt hoses for chaffing. Like Brian said, "Ask me how I know".:cool-smiley-011:

Look here: OSO/Formula/Project....382. I just did EVERYTHING in my 382. I cleaned up the bilge pumps and switches, then installed them with Weatherpack connectors. (Among about a million other projects...)

I'm with sydwayz.... couplers...... along with gimbal bearings, boots and giving the transom units a good going through. Also when you remount the engines use new motor mounts and bolt & spring sets that hold the flywheel housing to the inner transom plate. If its an Alpha replace the aluminum & zinc bolts at the bottom. of the transom units. Think replace anything rubber or wear related. Don't forget to do a proper alignment when you reinstall.:p
