Default Indy racing, Inner Harbor, Baltimore Md.....

http://www.baltimoregrandprix.com Were they keeping it a secret or what? I just had two people tell me about it this week. Otherwise I would have had no clue. Im more interested in the Lemans, production based vehicles.....I hate crowds, but it is an event for you gearheads in the chesapeake area.

I'll be there from Thursday-Monday, staying at the Ritz condo docks, just around the corner from the Rusty Scupper. When I booked in February, the Inner Harbor marina was already sold out.

I would love to take the race boat up to the Inner Harbor during all of this (the harbor is only 5 miles from me up river) but I bet it's going to beyond packed. Not a place I want to be on one of my first trips out with the beast.

Also I think its the best thing thats happened to Baltimore since Willy Don was mayor. Hopefully this is a turn around for them.

You won't see ANYTHING from the water. As far as I know, the Inner Harbor seawall is first-com, first-served, but you'd have to call the Harbor Master to find out...

You're right William Donald Schaefer did lots of very cool stuff for Baltimore. There is now a bronze statue of him next to Phillips restaurant at Harborplace. I had the pleasure of having New Years eve dinner with Gov. Schaefer, his best friend Gene Raynor, and lobbyist Bruce Bereano in Ocean City in 2002/2003. I never knew how funny the Gov. was until then, he was hysterical.
