Need Advice- What's the best alternators?
 

I need to know what alternators are the best.
I have;
1987 Merc TRS.
Exsisting alternators;
Port - Motorola (toast)
Starboard - Mando (works kinda)

The local auto electric shop doesn't like Mando or Motorola.
He said $150 to rebuild Motorola and he'd have to sell me a new Mando for $190.
I don't like Mando's either and I don't want to buy a new one.
I would like to buy 2 new matching alternators. Question is what to buy?
He recommended converting to Delco Remy one wire. I don't know how difficult this convertion would be and he said the alternators would be rebuilt, not new. :mad:

Any recommendations?
