Bob's on his way to clear customs as of 8:45 and then off to Punta Cancun starting point.

The links again,
Dave

Here are the links to the SPOT GPS track points (I created a few because the shares were overloaded on the way to Cancun and started kicking people off). If you have trouble with one try another.

They are fine...They started late after spending some extra time at customs.
When they got out into the Yucatan Straits they encountered bigger water than theywanted to be in, so they turned back.
They will be spending the day and evening in Cancun, and leaving tomorrow a.m.

Go get'em Bob !!!!!!

We have our early morning wake up call all aranged for. Looking forward to friendly seas.
We had a relaxing day around the hotel pool. Terry and Pierre did some snorkeling on the reefs off Isla Mujures in those gorgeous aquamarine waters. I will explain why I could not go in with them when back tomorrow night also shed some more light on our decision to turn back today.
We have had an incredible adventure doing this. Some great stories to tell when we get back.

Story #3

Too early for bed so I will share this.

We were told that today was a holiday so customs office was closed but if we checked out at Isla Mujures we could probably get someone to come in and process us. ( for a fee of coarse ) When doing just that I asked what the name of the holiday was? He turns to me with a big grin - itīs Fathers Day.
Lots of fees here for foreigners. I will say tho that I have really enjoyed the people here. Very helpful and we never felt unsafe or threatened. Nothing was taken from the boat. I would come back here again without hesitation.
We took lots of pictures today as well and will eventually share.
Bob

Spot

I just went to spot to look at what it showed for todays track. Spot mark number 4 is about a mile or so northeast of where we pushed the button. It should have been shown over by Punta Cancun lighthouse where we actually started from. The other marks seem to be in the correct places. We have been taking pictures of the Garmin plotter at critical locations for start / finish so not a big problem. Official times are recorded and documented by Kevin Cooper ( POPRA ) on first leg and Pierre Savoie ( APRA ) for return leg. SPOT acuracy is unknown and unproved just yet.
