BOATSHOWDIRECT.NET TO CAMPAIGN 46' FOUNTAIN, "CAT KILLER" THIS SUMMER

Scott “Tuna” Mitchell and partner, Joe Lamberti, owners of Fountain dealership, BoatShowDirect.net, in Stratford, Connecticut, announce the purchase of Fountain Powerboats' 46' Cat Killer. “We couldn't let a weapon of mass destruction fall into just anyone's hands,” Mitchell says. “So we made the deal and are readying the boat for a summer campaign. Our debut will be the New York City Poker Run on June 14. After that we will be at the SBI race in Sarasota on July 4, certainly we will be in Key West for the Worlds. That's about all I can say right now as to a schedule. But, if you are heading to a poker run with your cat or vee and think you are going to dominate, look out. Our mission at Fountain Powerboats 'seek and destroy.' This boat owns the southern circuit; now it will own the northeast. Fountain has ICBMs in the arsenal; we're backing them up with a weapon of mass destruction.”
Race fans and high performance enthusiasts know the Cat Killer Fountain well. Under ownership by Fountain Powerboats, the boat got its pedigree in 2007 when it ran as #76 Fountain with the company's large-scale marketing effort behind it. In 2006 it ran as #76 Rio Roses. During its career it was affectionately named Cat Killer by Reggie Fountain who built it to end any controversy as to whether a vee-bottom could be as fast as a catamaran. Reggie's Cat Killer has clocked 170 mph according to an array of instruments on board and verified by third parties. On the poker run circuit, the Killer, amazed the field in Jacksonville last year when it outran every cat on the roster in flat water. Videos of the Cat Killer stalking prey and feeding on its rivals is at www.FountainPowerboats.com.
Mitchell reports that the Cat Killer's new graphics will build on the boat's reputation. “We're going for a fighter jet look.” Powering the Killer will be a pair of 1550 Sterlings and #6 drives by Mercury Racing identical to those it ran in its previous life.”
Gary Baltz, Fountain Powerboats' head of marketing, says that horsepower alone is not the secret to the boat's incredible speed. “We took a production model 47' Lightning and shortened the shear line to lower the center of gravity. We could get more speed with more horsepower, but why? We want people to know that power alone won't make a boat the fastest; ultimately it's the design of the boat that matters most and Reggie Fountain has developed the right design.”
Mitchell adds, “We feel that our ownership of the Killer will strengthen customer relationships and our relationship with Fountain Powerboats. Fountain's recent purchase of Baja Marine builds on its global domination of the powerboat market, and it's exciting for us to further that with the appearance of the Cat Killer at important events.
Mitchell's business was selling high quality ski boat business in 1995, but gradually transitioned into the high performance recreational boating market about four years ago. Today it is a high quality boutique for cars and boats, whether fishboats, pleasure, or raceboats. High end equipment only, top quality service and products are key to BoatShowDirect.net's success. Lamberti has been involved with high performance cars and boats since the1960s. The partner's business plan is based on high performance which also includes Lamberti's CarShowDirect.net, which sells restored and original-equipment Corvettes and other vintage muscle cars in Rye, New York.
