A 12 month season compared to 4 and ten times the boats on the water doesn't help those insurance rates.

All of what they said is true. Inside is better. Hideaway and OSO would be my top choices depending on if you need to be in water easily.

On the other hand, if you need a place to live I can help with a purchase or rental. I currently have a condo on the ICW for sale/rent with FREE protected dockage available. No lift, but it would be a good option to keep in-water on weekends.

I called Geico today and they first told me they'd give me a quote but it wouldnt cover hurricane damage or theft. Then they called me back to tell me my 2000 was too old for them to insure. I'm gonna try Nationwide and Allstate on Monday. A buddy of mine has a 07 Chapparal that is insured throught Boat US. I'll try them too.

Holy Hell! Who do you guys use to insure your boat. I just got off the phone with Progressive to get an idea for boat insurance down in Fl. They want $1950 a year to insure my little boat with only 310 horse. Thats insane!!!

Call Ellen at TRUMP INSURANCE in I think it is Clearwater. I have a 302 SR-1 1985 w/twin 580 hp and pay only $300 yr.
