It takes time even if you just try to meet just one person at each run.Yes people have their own groups but I have not meet any one who was not friendly.Like Chris said post a thread before ask who is going and like Race Girl said always be the first one to help some one tie up

Pachanga, you should put post your location below your screen name......Ive met probably a dozen OSO'ers from seeing their location alone.......over the years theres been several instances where a guy has been on the site for liike 2 or 3 yrs with no locaton posted and you find out hes like 45 min from you.....to me location should be mandatory below your screen name......a couple of car sites I go on it is.......also an OSO sticker somewhere on your transom and your truck would help too.

I am curious! Were you in the skater that had the blower sticking up outta the sun pad? Wish I could remember for sure! If so we were tied up at the launch dock at Portman's somewhere N or S of 12:00 getting our boat inspected for the useless(for us) 2nd card. If so we watched ya cruise back and forth in front of Charlie T's after we got there.

We ran the run backwards. The house we rented was next to the T-60 Grill. I will say we had ta dodge a few 4-5 wide wide ass open, don't follow the rules of the water kindda boaters. I was totally suprised because I am certain at least 3 were OSO'er's. We had ta back completely down and wait for the high speeders ta pass ta be safe. :(

Perhaps we will meet in the future! We would definately like ta meet some people ta become water friends with! :D

I found it to be the same as you describe and I'm sorry we didn't get to meet you. I had planned to stay until tomorrow, but when we didn't meet anyone, we packed up and came home today, so we'll be on our local waterway tomorrow. Ironically, we are always meeting strangers here, but like you said, everyone up there seemed to be into their own thing. The people with the power sqauadron at Portman's were very professional at the launch, but Portman's weren't involved with the run, and it seemed to me that was where the action probably is on that lake. Oh well, there will be other opportunities.

I agree with all that has been said here on this thread.

I would think a bright shining new OSO T-shirt would surpase a badge!

I think OSO should send all there members a plastic name badge the size of a credit card with a pin on it and with their name and their OSO screen name. Then we could wear them on our shirts to poker runs and boat shows etc. I'm sure others would ask you where do you get those cool name tags and we could tell them to join OSO.
It would be a marketing tool for them because we would only be wearing them around other boaters and it would get the OSO name out there to other boaters

I've met a ton of fellow OSOers .... but I've been the instigator ... for instance, last weekend at Lake Norman, I saw a Skater comin in, I helped them dock, asked if they were on OSO and then introduced myself. If I waited for people to recognize/acknowledge me ... well.... that just wouldnt work :D

Did that with very little response. :(

I would say if you know you're going to an event, plan ahead. Post a thread asking who's going to be there and what boat they'll be on.

Had several conversations online on OSO with Dyno from Michigan and met him in person on a trip to Grand Haven.

Same with Phantom Chaos. Knew him through OSO and met up with him at the SCOPE poker run.

Great way to meet some great people.

I will need to meet you in Vegas since we couldn't get it together working at the same hospital. :D

I once dropped down on a dock covered with duck poo to keep Packin's 22 sanger alley cat sponson from going under the dock and hooking. Maybe that investment didn't pay off so good. :D
