Need A Little Help In Sunny Isles FL. June 20-22!
We are in need of a three quarter ton pick up to be used around the pit area for the Sunny Isles race in Florida. If anyone has ever tried to rent something like this you will understand it is next to impossible.
We are pulling the boat down with the motor home and need the use of a truck from Friday afternoon through Sunday evening. We need it to pull the boat around the pit area and to the cranes.
I’m looking for something in the area so we will not have to send another driver down there.
I have tried to contact two or three dealerships to see if they were interested in helping out. I have gotten no response.
Like I said we have tried to rent something and had no luck. I will be happy to pay someone for the use of a truck. Or, we can work something out in advertising. (On the truck and or the boat)
Any help is appreciated in advance.
Thank you!

Tried it in Havasu. Didn't work out for us! Fist question they ask is: "your not going to tow anything with this vehicle are you?"

I am Pullin my 38 Bertram down with my hooptie 2500 Chevy truck. I am only going into the show with my Bertram, and then maybe splash saturday afternoon for a shackdown run.
So, that means we have a truck with a 2 5/16 ball ready for use.
It is not the best looking truck, but hauls @ss.
You can call me if you like. 386-785-6986 Kurt AKA Solo on Speedwake.

Done this before, don't bother with any of those rental car places!! The only one that will help you and that has anything remotely close to what you are looking for is Budget rental! NO joke, call them. They have a location in the FLL airport and most likely one in the Miami Airport too.
www.budget.com I rented a 2008 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer in May to two my boat home to Cleveland. $280 one way rental. I forget what the daily rate was but was very cheap for what the truck was.

O.K. I worked for Enterprise for 16 years, there is a trick. When you call you have ask for the commercial truck rental division. If you just call the local branch you will have NO luck. In Chicago we rent 1 ton 4X4 crew cabs all the time and people use them to tow, no problem. Pm me if you need help I still have a lot of friends @ Enterprise....
P.s. the one thing you will have to do is run it thru a business they will just rent these things to people off the street.
