DON ARONOW MEMORIAL NEWS late news

The Giant Key Chain Mementos have arrived and have been shipped to Florida for the race next week.

The pen in the photo is to give some idea of the size of these things.

These will be given to the participants of the race and the offshore legends and also will be available for sale to the general public at race village.

We have a typo that has been discovered in the rules. Our intent was to have the Historic Classes be just like they were back in the days.

The Production boats would be boats that ran the old 280 HP Mercruiser 350 cu in packages and the Open boats would be two engines no more than 1,000 cu in.

Well, the rules were published and the word NO was left out of the clause that covers Open boats. So it reads as if you need more than 1,000 cu in to be in.

We will announce the mistake at the drivers meeting and if the boats that are already in with less than 1,000, want to let the boats with more than 1,000 in, as long as they have boats that are more than 15 years old....then it is ok with us.

Big thanks to all the Volunteers and volunteer boats. We could not pull this off without this help and this mornings meeting was fantastic.

We still need two very reliable shoreside volunteers to aid with communications and logistics.

See you all Thrusday Morning for check-in and tech inspections.
