I don't quite understand your hostility towards Audio, but it seems a little much. He hasn't pointed fingers at anyone in general and I don't think he's trying to act as the Morality Police. He's mearly given his point of view, which in my opinion is a very valid one at that. As he said what has had the biggest impact is the ability to post photos. Before if it were raunchy it didn't pop out at you in the thread like a big old photo. At that point in time it was easy to skip a post without getting the full idea. Also censoring a thread in my opion aint going to help much either. Most of us are pretty open-minded and do get a laugh at allot of the stuff such as Norts original image of the boat on fire, it was a thread I thought was pretty funny. So how am I to know that down the line I'm going to have to look at some guy getting shagged by a smurf. I can tell you that it didn't offend me, just isn't the type I think needs to be here. So the next time you decided to be the moral majority atleast pick your target better, one that is actually talking to you, not about a subject. I believe you too have just as much right to your opinion as Jon does, you just chose to word yours in a rather aggressive and untactful way. Hell if you want to attack someone try slamming me, because I think if anyone on this thread is trying to act like a god it's you, and your the one being an ass. Problem with that, to bad.

Diligaf: First off I never asked to be the board police and I do not want to be. I have been the moderator of the Formula board and thankfully there had not been one instance of me needing to moderate there. I take the same view as Jeffrey. What you are failing to realize is that by the time you hit the ignor button it is already to late and you have already been offended by what the poster has put there. You also fail to realize that you have your opinion and I have mine. I am not saying that yours is wrong I am saying that I disagree with it. Obviously you need to realize that the world is a very rocky place and some people will disagree and when you can come to a middle ground then that is the best thing. That is what I am looking for that middle ground that the board has operated on for so long. Right now people are bailing ship and that is not good. These are people that I value as sources for information. I guess your boat runs 100% and all you see this board for is a place to post in my opinion garbage and that is fine but when you offend people warning or not then what?

Concintacy: I took your post as since so many people have read the string and no one had posted that the way the board was running was fine. If I was wrong about that I appoligize.

TeamBaja2001: You obviously do not realize that there are a lot of people "watching my back" I can also Watch my back quite well alone thank you very much. You however I wonder about. You posted a picture of some one on this board that I RESPECT a lot. I am not sure if you know what the word RESPECT is but you may want to find out. There are two possobilities that could have happend with you posting that picture. One is that you knew exactly what you were doing and thought it would be funny. When you realized you were wrong at leaste you had the decency to take it off. However it would have been removed by the board at any rate if you had not taken it down yourself. The board does not have a choice. The second option is that you are just blind and could not see that the picture matched pictures of a member that were already being posted all over!!! Either way it does not bode well for you.

The other thing that you all are missing is one letter to the host of this site about controversial material and this site could be closed down. It does not even have to be a member that complains. The Save the Manatee Club could write them. Then Jeffrey has to go through hoops to either find another host or explain himself that is not fair to him. There are a lot of things that you are not thinking about hear and I am just trying to enlighten you so before you jump down my throat you may want to learn.

Other then that I will stand and defend my opinion as I have every right to do and you have every right to try and tear me down.

I agree with you Jon on quite a bit of this and seems you are taking a little beating for this! I read this site everyday before work and at lunch time and some of these threads are definately NOT something I can get away with here or I will hear it from the women or management! I would appreciate a little more discretion to and would hate to see people like Too Old or anyone else leave either! Good luck man!

Obviously, some things went over-board, and PERSONALLY attacking someone, wheter in fun or not, can OBVIOUSLY get out of hand, and eventually hurt someone's feelings.

We all come to this board for many reasons,,, some of them boating. who is to say they all have to be about boating ???

I never thought it ALL had to be about boating, just about boaters.

I run a few boards and it is a tough decision to cut a thread that some believe is okay to run. Whatever the rules, your users will test them.

I believe OSO should have some guidelines. Porn has no place here. I think the one message of the boat builder who was not happy with the content and the prospect of mentioning the board to his customers tells all (for a board that is in the money making business, and this is a business no matter what we all think). If we did not need guidelines or rules, there would be no US government or police force to control the citizens and there would be chaos. Think of this as the United States of Boaters. There are police and there are citizens. There are good people and there are bad people.

As I always say, the advent of message boards has given the user with little to no people skills a place to use them to no end and with little consequence. This is good and bad.

I believe there should be few deleted threads but much more control on the users parts. Wanna post porn, I'll give you a link. Wanna BS with your boating friends with the occasional sexual reference, OSO is a great place for it.

Jeffrey's message was well put. I believe this is his home. He lets you put your feet up on his table, just don't kick his dog.
