ehhh hemmmmm
I did too give up some things for lent.
I gave up SEX ............... but That shedevil MissAmy lured me into a trap and I had to give in. I have no willpower.
Actually I did give up desserts, and added 1 thing too. 5 days at the gym instead of 4. ......... So if i live up to my obligation I should be in awesome shape for Memorial Day.
I will point out something that most and yes even catholics dont realize. Sundays are not actually counted in the 40 days of lent.
Tanned, I called my uncle the POPE to double ck............... so there.

I hear ya, what a bunch of sick bastards. I too have lost respect for a number of the priests. When my father passed away they were a bunch of greedy bastards (long story). However there are a few who I know and have the highest respect for, but they are certainly the minority.
I dont want to turn this into a religious forum and have a bunch of believers and non-believers poking their fingers in each others chests.
I believe tanned started this as a humorous thread and the lenten thing is more of a traditional thing to me than it is an obligation, just to see if I can have some willpower
Thats all

Give up?? Never!
Not a thing...
I wonder if the local churches I pass on a daily basis will give up being greedy just for a little while...Maybe the priests can downgrade from their Mercedes, Bmw's and lincoln towncars and get something more befitting...Perhaps they will actually give their collections to the needy.....Hmmmm
In out affluent area, a priest wouldn't be caught dead with a vehicle that didn't cost at least 60K
The two priests at the marina both have 35'+ cruisers.
