can anyone tell me or find something that tells me what each color wire goes to plugged into the head unit harness of my alpine cd player

ie speaker wire = x color

Do a search on Alpine's site. Or google your head units model number followed by wiring diagram and you'll find it somewhere. Worked for me on my Sony.

green-left rear
purple-right rear
red- switched 12+ volts
yellow- constant 12+volts
blue/white-amp turn on
orange- illmination
