Take that crap to the race course where it belongs..

The course is a closed course and the CG and NYPD clear the course before the start, it seems those two boats were not where they were supposed to be... that's the problem with SPECTATORS trying to become part of the run and getting in the way. Yes the boats were to close, yes they would have probably been blamed if something happened but NO, those spectators weren't supposed to be anywhere near there...

The West side of the river is cleared by the CG and NYPD...... The CG and NYPD go ahead of the poker runners, zigging back and forth clearing the course... If a boat is in the way they head straight for them and tell them to get out of the way.... It has been like this for MANY years and the spectators can't seem to stay out of the way...even after the CG/NYPD tell them to get out of the way...... At the drivers meetings you are also told of this...

The only official closing is for the SBI race, and even then commercial traffic is allowed to pass,, and it's still no excuse for a bone-headed move like passing a boat with a family of 5 at about 40 feet away.

Let;s not start to blame the poker runners for a boat that should'nt have been where it was. There's way to much of that $hit coming from the media when there's a tradgedy. Nothing went wrong, nothing happened, and nobody got hurt. Let's be glad that everyone made it back to the docks safe and sound. Maybe just a few bruised egos. Can't ask for more than that.

Congrats again to both boats, you both sounded "killer" good.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Fountain had what looked to be a proffessional camera on board and it didn't look like a "Sony".... They put themselves in harms way WITH kids on board.... It doesn't appear this was a family outing, it looks more like an outing to watch/see the fast boats go by while filming the action...

As I passed the GWB about 1000 ft. past the bridge there were two spectators sitting in the middle of the river just sitting there watching boats pass...sitting ducks if you would...not a smart move and it puts ME in danger...

Like I said before....it appears CK was too close to the small boat and the Fountain but they were not supposed to be there either.

"Closed", "Cleared" whatever you want to call it.... the point is the west side of the course is cleared prior to the start by the NYPD and CG.

I've been doing this run for 11 years now and since 2001 they have been "clearing" the course prior to the start.
