Good point- I had a buddy who LOVED stock class drag racing. One day he shows up with a Mazda Cosmo. Somehow the NHRA rules had a loophole that the rotary fit into very well. The swept volume of the rotary chamber was very small, but it fired more than once per crankshaft revolution. As such, it made twice the power of piston engines with the same on-paper displacement. He brought home trophies every week. He was so proud.
But like we kept telling him, "Dude, you're racing a 140 horse Mazda". Talk about porking your cousin.

Update from the scene............little chop, high humidy
Comments on the boat: Bad azz motor, sounds mean as hell.
Comments from TD before the run: "Uhhhhhh I don't want to run all out because I make $300-$500 per race on the water and if I run all out everyone will know how fast my boat is and I won't be able to make money."
The boat is coming into the dock now and Sharkey is going to take a pic of the GPS.
As for racing for money in a 22' Sh*tbox????
GET A REAL JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So........let's see what the GPS Speed is? Stay tuned!

Did a time trial this weekend. Hit 53 yesterday with a full cooler, fouled plugs and a slightly dinged 3 blade aluminum prop. Lost about 300 RPM's, but the Techron has already reclaimed 400 RPM's. With no beers or snacks on board, clean off the algae and a new SS prop I should be back to 58 or 60 mph. Now that's with an Alpha on Pump Gas!
