Where is Jim Darr when you need his input? How many boat companies has he mentioned, launched, bought, sold, represented, closed? I bet you could double this list easily!

Super Hawaii went up in smoke back in the early 90s. The owner Kitami, had some great plans to build a lot more than boats. Complete, luxury resorts, with SH boats availble to the guest, racing teams and a 45' SH. It seems the owner had great intentions. Just not enough bankroll for his dreams to be realized.
The 34 will never be built again, the molds were crushed. The 40(same hull as the 37 Midnight Express ) can still be built. Molds are around.

Wasn't there a powerboat named "Chase" that went out of business eight years ago or so?

Yes Four Winns is doing well, but they don't make the Libarator anymore.
They make deck boats, bow riders, ski boats, fishing boats and cruisers.
But nothing I would call a performance boat.

Profile Powerboats - I think they were out of Iowa or Kansas.

What's Bob Otranger (sp?) doing ? I remember he moved
a company (Thunder) from Chicago to Fort Myers.

The company/molds was/were moved after he sold it. That company is now Active Thunder.

Paradox bought the last mold built by Avanti in the Palmyra NJ building. It sat unfinished for a while. They finished it and titled it as a new boat current year I think. I haven't heard or read about any new molds being produced. Crappy customer services and dennis the owner ripping everyone off ruined that company
