You cannot have a non-water-jacketed header in an enclosed engine compartment. No hatch- a water injected zoomie would be legal. If you are talking about something like the CMI tractor header going through the hatch, there's no restriction that I'm aware of.

They run Zoomies on Flat bottoms , but like was stated not on a closed hatch set up , Definite fire hazzard. Seen a guy when I was kid put headers on his cabin cruiser, looked good, but didn't last very long burned to the water line.
There is a set of the CMI tractor headers in the classifieds

closest you can get is CMI tractor pipes. its a header that collects down to a single water jacted pipe that exits straight up or slightly back. they are legal water jacked but the noise is a problem, you would never pass a level test and to be perfectly honest would be WAY to loud for a pleasure boat.

What about some of the headers I have seen on a few Outerlimits that go out through the hatch? ie.. XXX
How are they getting around the noise laws? I have only seen pics, but did not look to me as if they have anything to keep them quiet?
