Both very neat engines. Looks like the LSA is a deriviative of the upcoming Corvette ZR-1 engine, with the integrated supercharger. 540 hp from 467 pounds? Nice.

Think I'll put one in my 22-footer and go drum up some money....

I agree pwoer to weight from a "GM Engineerd" engine... sounds good..... on either diesel or LSA could be a real breakthrough in the industry.

Is this being sold by GM Performance as a crate engine?

Is this similar to the Raylar LS based option?

Will GM employees get employee discounts?:D

My understanding is this will not be an engine that GM is going to let Merc have.

LSA makes me think more like whats in the new Caddy CTS-V, but yes either way, it is the new "architecture" the LS9 is based off of also. pretty sweet. should be better numbers with different exhuast. and wait and see whatll happen once they crack the ECU...that oughta be just as interesting

That small block is the $hit! I need two of them.

The GM LSA is nice, but in my opinion Raylar's LSM-550 would be a much better way to go! Basically the same power with no supercharger and no need to run premium fuel. It suprises me GM would release a 'marine' engine that requires premium (I assume that means 91 octane minimum). I know I can't get that at any of the marinas near us. Our marina has 89, and that is all the LSM-550 requires.

Yep, more cubic inches (450 Vs 376) and fewer parts to break (no supercharger) makes a lot more sense to me! Now if I could only afford a couple...:cool:

I don't know how you would buy one of the GM Marine engines. I believe they will only sell to OEMs.

I can understand the weight saving but give me a Big block with that blower and technology and it will be in the 800hp range
