Default OT: Had a great weekend snowmobiling !

My girlfriend and I and two other couples went to
the UP of michigan for a snowmobile trip. We went to a town called Naubinway which is about 25 minutes west of the Bridge on highway 2.
I was REALLY surprised at how much snow and how good the trail conditions where.
We ended up riding a total of 260 miles in a day and a half. The trails were so good we rode between 50-60 mph ,not too bad considering it was my girlfriends second time snowmobiling. There were a couple of straighaways that I hit 105 on the speedo. What a fricken rush !
It was a good weekend ,noone crashed and none of the sleds broke down.
the sad thing is when we woke up Sunday it was 48degrees out ! It went from mid 20's to almost 50 over night ! Then today it was 60. Even though
I had a great time snowmobiling , today's weather
had me thinking about the boat .

Sounds like a great time. I had thought of going up to Curtis but didn't

I need to get some time on the new sled. A whopping 100 miles on it this year

Hey, I'm a snowmobiler too, but somehow when the first of Feb. rolls around I just start thinking about boats.

Playn,
It's a good thing you didn't go to Curtis.
We talked to quite a few people that came east
from Munising,Seney, and Curtis and they were
out of snow and if the trail had snow it was
real rough. It seems like anything east of Curtis and north of Newberry had a ton of snow.

26Scarab,

Yeah, the trail reports aren't looking too good in Curtis but a lot better like you were saying east of Newberry. I am trying to get up there in a few weeks (if there is any snow left). Heck we may even get some down here from the looks of things in the next couple of days...too bad no base

Playn,
We have a cabin rented in Hulbert for next weekend. This will definitly be the last ride.
It is just the guys this weekend so I'm sure some of the sleds will come back broke or bent !
We are just hoping that 12+ inches hits up there ,if not I'm going to stay home and summerize the
sleds.

Hope you guys don't have too much carnage to haul back.

We usually have a guys weekend the second weekend of Tip up Town but this year the weather didn't cooperate and we took the families up and ran on the slush for the weekend. Were really hoping for a little more sleding in a few weeks but for now we are throwing in the towel , breaking out the golf clubs and heading to Vegas this thursday

work, I think it is Chandler park course (off of I94)
Have fun in Vegas and don't spend all they money, save some for the boat
