merc prob built it for some skiboat speed records,thats got to be 100k of eng and drive

These boats are built for ski racing. Over 100 mph skiing is very common. This sports is making a comeback. These are not one off's these are standards.

These guys are full blown race boats, definitely not a through together, the top of the line boats would be running close to 200k build cost, i.e no joke.
