I would assume that this could result in some stalling problems when going into gear. If it normally idles at 900 rpm and when dropped into gear it drops to 650rpm the timing is retarded several degress making it harder to idle. Correct?

I have a used one. Was working fine. But I wanted new units. In fact, I have two used V6-14. I sold the third to somebody here a while back.
Let me know if you are interested.

Shawn, only for verification, the purpose of the v/6 module is to allow more initial timing with the same final numbers you have now. In other words, if 34* is to be the final then the initial would be 18*+/-. The V/6 module is generally used to create better starting and stronger idle.
The V/6 module may cause more load on the starter, cables and battery. In fact, the cables may require up sizing.
Good Luck

Waybomb, I just put on my second new one, but would like to have working spares on the boat. Please let me know how much you want for both spare units.
CCando, the main reason I use them is the fact that they do not have a rev limiter built into them, thus I can spool my motors up to 5800 or so. My engines make their best power at higher RPMS.The initial timing is academic. My engines start with the tap of a key and idle like car engines. They are pretty tame.
