HTM SR24

I wanted a cat because of more speed with less hp. The problem was we sleep in our boat on the weekends. Second problem (which is usually always a problem) THE DAMN THIN WALLET SYNDROME. The HTM's were the only thing in my price range with a decent cabin.

I was hooked from the get go!

I remeber seeing my first donzi as a 7yr in 1968 yellow orange and white it used to tear up the lake I live at, I used to try an mimick the sound when I was swimming, You know the feeling, there are no others, friends had sidewinders, carlsons, challengers,
taihiti's,baja's, all nice boats but not a Classic so I got my dream last year, now I turn the heads on the lake. 1968 16' 351w 300hp
oh yeah you know when your dream boat comes along!
yes honey I mean you, no really I mean you and the kids!:p

25' Daytona

Like Mike, I was drawn to the bang for the buck in a 25'ish Cat. I looked at a lot and had it narrowed- for whatever reasons- to Eliminator, HTM, and DCB. I'm sure I'd have been happy with any of them but I got the Daytona.

I liked the classic styling, resale, construction, custom gel, fair price (ordered in September) rigging quality, cat ride, single engine performance (high 80's with Whipple, hope to break 90 with imco shorty and merc labbed prop), cockpit room, relative economy of the whole set-up (Yes, I said economy):D

this is my first offshore boat so not a brand loyalty thing. Money ride looks color and most of all previous owner upkeep and pride(used boat of course) big factor. also didnt hurt that wife liked purple carpet and trim! 1999 checkmate 259

Mattboy, I do know the feeling. I have owned two of the ZX models and I am working a deal on my third. That DONZI name just has a nice ring to it. The classics are awesome. They just would not work in the CHES Bay for me. When I went to the factory for the first time they had a Blue Classic there that I wished I could have stuffed in my trunk. I just could not keep my eyes off of it. It is one fine boat. When you see one there is no doubt what you are looking at. I respect the national following they get also. Talk to you soon. DMAN2

I wanted a well built boat that had both ride and speed. I also needed good looks and as big a cabin as posible, and I wanted value for the $$$. The only choice was Sonic.:D

I grew up coveting Dad's Donzi. Always got stares and comments. Now I have one too.

I like the looks of the boat, can't beat it in the rough water. It seems like there is always someone at the launch who wants to share their Donzi stories.

By the way, Dad still owns his 1967 18' classic, the finish still looks new.

The Sonics I saw in Miami were awesome. I have always like the graphics they put on them. I wish they would come out with a Step Hull. I have looked at them several times in the past. DMAN2

What power did he have in his 67 Classic? The old ones are the S*(%!
