I would guesstimate that the number of boats on the Lower Colorado River this year, is down 25-30 percent over a year ago. Infact, July 4th weekend this year, looked like a normal weekend from last summer. It's been great for wakesports though. LOTS of good water.

traffic here is down about a 30%, which is fine makes the lake more enjoyable without more idiots.

as is always the case......

It's been a busy year in private jet sales, both new and used. Gulfstream, Falcon, Bombardier, and Cessna are backed up on orders well past 2011 on most models. The newly announced G650 Gulfstream already has over 150 confirmed orders with deposit- it's a $65 million+ aircraft- certification and deliveries may not be until around late 2010/early 2011.

I've never seen more takeoffs and landings out of Chicago Exec. JetA is selling as high as $6-$7/gal depending on location. It's nothing for these folks to load up on a couple thousand gallons just to go play a round of golf.
Gas money for the boat (or yacht) for these type of folks is pocket change.
