Considering that Sony has 75% of the marketshare in this arena, I would stick with them, although you are fighting the world's richest man in his quest to take the gaming market. Sony just has a network of program writers, that Microsoft is trying to lure, and that's what makes the machine so successful, the games. It is true X-box is a slightly more powerful machine. They also have signed deals with the same writers from my understanding. I vote PS2.
Games for either of the two is a personal choice, but you can choose any of the EA sports and it will be a good choice. They make Madden 2002, Triple Play 2002, and Gran Turismo is awesome, tehy have a new release I don't have, but will soon buy.

I love my XBox. The XBox is upgradeable. It has expansion slots. I hope it's for future upgrades. go to www.xbox.com
