Id give you my .02... But dont think it will help. Personally, I would have at least made a police report to document the incident. You dont have to file charges now. You have a statute of limitations that allows you to wait. This way, if its resolved ammicably, you dont file charges. But, you can file later if there is no resolution or if there is another incident. Good luck!!

What ever you do, DON'T USE DISHWASHING SOAP, such as DAWN, it will eat the clear coat off your car! Regular car wash should take it off, but might take a couple times.

Dawn soap will not eat the clear coat! It is a degreaser and not acid based. Dawn removes wax but not clear coat.
