Default New Boat

I bought my first Go-Fast boat this April only to have it stolen last week. 25 Baja Outlaw.I am wasting no time getting back to it, and want to go bigger. Looking for little advice. Looking for high 60's low 70'smph. stability in a cross chop and good overall handling and build.
29 Scarab twin 350's or single Big Block (not sure yet)
27 29 Fountain Fever
290 Powerquest Enticer
288 Sunsation
27-30 Baja Outlaw
What is your input.

depending on your price range I'd drop the following boats off your list

27 Fountain
290 Powerquest

But none of the boats on your list are really much bigger than your 25 Baja Outlaw. The Fountain 27 is actually smaller.

I had a 2000 29 Fountain at one time and it was a soild built boat, very fast and efficent and handled very good.

I also like the 280 Sunsation on your list. The 29 Scarab was built well and handled nice with the twin 350's. The single engine 29 Scarab in order to hit 70 you will need at least an HP500.

Keep your eyes open for 28 Pantera's too but you need around 550hp to hit and honest 70mph in that boat.

In that case, look at the 271/292 Fastechs.

Take a look at where you boat. (Lake/river, bay , Great Lakes or ocean) A pad on the bottom of the hull will make you faster but give you a rougher ride untill you hull is long enough to span more of the waves. A true deep V, like your Oulaw was, will give you a general better ride but will take more power to run faster.

Talk to Jupiter Sunsation. He can put you into a 06 Topgun for not much more than that.
