Hi Julie
My boat is a 27ft fletcher with a fixed surface drive and a 440hp diesal, with a zf 2speed transmission, maximum prop speed of 3400rpm, all in weight 2.35 tonne. My first prop was a 17 x 29 rolla 4 blade it only pulled 2700rpm at 57mph then i tried a 17 x 26 merc 4 blade it pulled 58mph at 3000rpm i then had it labbed and tips rounded it then only pulled 57mph at 3000rpm, I then tried a 17 x 27 3 blade merc it pulled only 50 mph at 3100rpm. I then tried a 16.5 x 26 merc 3 blade it only pulled 50mph at 3300rpm but then my friend lent me a 4 blade chopper style prop it was a 16.5 x 24. The boat handled great at 65mph in a chop but then he wanted it back! He doesn't know the name of the prop as he bought it from ebay. The prop has S4 stamped on it but no one seems to know who made it. What would you recommend? I've spent a small fortune on props and feel as if im going backwards! Do you have any suggestions?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Regards, and thanks in advance
Gerard
