Cost per mile help

I need some help with delivery cost. I have a freind who sold his boat and the new owner might want it delivered. It would be from GA to PA and I would have nothing to haul back with me. I was wondering what the average rate per mile is today? Thanks for the help.

$2.25-2.50 / mile is the going rate.

Hauling a boat for hire requires commercial insurance and DOT permitting. If you have a mishap, you may have all sorts of problems, from lack of insurance coverage- on yours and his policies- to fines, etc. If you did have an issue and someone was hurt, the authorities interest in seeing you punished might be heightened considering you weren't acting inside the law at the time.

Just points to consider.
