I f you were turning a 24" prop at 5800 with a 1.86 gear ratio and the normal 10% slip, you were doing about 63 mph. Speedos can be VERY happy at times. To go 101 at 5800 rpm, you'd need a 38" pitch prop.

Thought his numbers sounded a little happy.

Great looking boat by the way.

Old thread.Mine ran 7400 rpm ,1.86 gear,32 pitch prop.It showed no tenancy to flip.If you are going to do this you MUST remove the wind shield or it WILL leave the water. It will first rotate then fly.The boat is not receptive to power as shipped, the key is in the TOTAL set up if it is going to run nose down tail up.The tunnel is to deep but that is the very thing that makes it safe at speed once you figure it out.I'll give you a hint for set up.The motor should be exactly 2 inches back and 10 and 1/2 inches up.If you do the things required to make that setting work the boat will do everything very well.Good luck.

A quick global craigslist search yielded a couple of these available out there. Very cool! My friend's Dad had one years ago that was quite fast.

Just talked to the previous owner and I got the corrected info. He would run the engine up to 6800 with a 26 pitch prop and would run high 80s. The 28 pitch would run it up in the 90's. You have to remember this was done at 5200 ft altitude and hot summer time weather and of course high humidity. Sea level atmosphere this boat would easily go in the 100's. The rev limiter is set at 6800 so I imagine theres is a little more to get from it. This boat is in near mint condition and I am thinking about selling it.
